Global Electronic Commerce Initiatives

Q: Is globalization real? How will globalized markets affect me?

A global electronic marketplace has become the mantra of free market and free traders. It means an access to larger markets, a mobility (to minimize taxes), a flexibility to employ workers and manufacture products anywhere using world-wide telecommuting workforce. The potential for a global economy/community is certainly here, but artificial borders are being erected through local language preference, local regulation, access limitations, etc.

While geographical market boundaries may be falling, interest-based communities will spring up. These "cybernations" then Interest or taste differences are as real as political boundaries. Thus, an online firm may gain access to a specific segment of consumer groups, but on a worldwide scale.
